Yesterday I got more proof to why engineers are not as cool as they think are.
One of my buddies an electrical engineer picked up a text I had for a social change class. He flipped through it and from the look on his eyes it as if he saw a ghost, a sheep fly, or I turned purple. I asked what’s up. He asked how I can live reading a book that has no equations? How can I go through the agony of reading all these pages that have nothing else on them but words? Then another engineer (oh great) came in to explain… I just smiled and sat back realizing that some people still cant read without pictures I mean equations in their books while other less recognized people can.
Disclaimer: I think 90% of my friends are engineers
and although they can’t live without equations they have sportsmanship to not beat me up after reading this post.
I found this online and I thought it was interesting.
I respect Yusuf Islam a whole lot. Not only is his story inspiring, but he is inspiring. Look how many schools he set up, he wins a prize for peace, and also dedicates his talents to send a positive message and be part of his society (He is well respected in the wider British and International community as well as Muslims all over)
enjoy…

Yesterday something that is both funny and clumsy happened to me. I was leaving somewhere and as I was getting in the car I was putting books, a folder, the car seat, and so forth in place. Everyone hopped in… all aboard and my formula one skills are about to roll right?
Not really, as I started driving away I heard a small “clung”. I was like “Hamilton streets… a little bumpy”. I looked in the rear view mirror I saw some papers flying… hmmm . I asked my wife “where are these papers from? cant be from us right?” Wrong again! My folder and books went ab sailing as I remembered that I left them on the top of the car before I drove off!!
I went back to see if I can gather any papers…
Alhamdulilah, ironically at the end I got everything back
clumsy? yes… funny? c’mon a bit right?
Comments making fun of me will be removed
Anyone who reads this post please read Br. Ali Jaffrey’s post about this incident that happeneded in McMaster here.
Mirrors… Some avoid them, while others stay too long infront of them. For some people they can be confident boosters, while others self-ego boosters.
Our fellow dentists use them as a tool to pull our teeth out. Barbers use them so you can get a proof of how the back of your head looks like. Ok sooo… so what?! What’s the deal about a mirror? Not much, but…
A mirror reflects you to you…
A mirror relfects others to you, and you to them if you are both looking together…
A mirror is used in the beginning of the day and the end of the night.
Men use mirrors, at least before they propose or go for a job interview…
Women use mirrors in the following situations: occcasionally, usually, and always.
Babies love mirrors too, they smile and try to slap or tap the person that stole their looks!
Believers are mirrors… of one another; in all the depth of what a reflection can be: spiritually, mentally, socially, and phsyically, etc…
The creations around us are a mirror… of the truth of God’s majestic perfect existence, His superior ability to create, and His mercy in giving us the bounty to live, appreciate life, and make something of it while we are breathing.
The heart is a mirror… of true reality. It reflects beauty if it is sound and blemish if it is defected.
Finally, this blog is a mirror… it reflects a little about me, perhaps a little about you too, and hopefully a lot about us when we both take the time to look together. When we take a few seconds before we rush out the door of judgment or action to fix our thoughts and intentions.
